About Us
The Self Defense Company is a global organization of defensive tactic instructors, civilian advisors, active and inactive military and law enforcement officers dedicated to the education and training of crime prevention and conflict resolution. Founded in 2007 by life long martial artist, coach and defensive tactics instructor Damian Ross with the motto “You Don’t Need a Black Belt” the company provides essential skill training on various levels from citizen to soldier. The company delivers its training through four primary vehicles.
The Self Defense Company Training Programs
Self Defense Company remote learning programs enable individuals to learn on their own terms at their own pace. Like many universities who offer at home programs, The Self Defense Company provides all the necessary tools to successfully develop essential personal protection skills in the convenience of your own home or while traveling abroad. The keystone of these programs is The Self Defense Training System™, a twelve-step modular program that provides step-by-step instructions covering every aspect of close quarters combat.

A Self defense solution; from basic training programs like 60 Minute Self Defense™ to the innovative Family Safe Program ™or the ultimate defensive tactics program The Self Defense Training System™, the Self Defense Company provides solutions for men, women, families, citizen and soldier seeking exactly what they need to prevent and survive violence.
The Self Defense Company Instructor and Trainer Development
The Trainers, Instructors and Training Centers are the grass roots extension of the Self Defense Company. Every instructor must under go a criminal background check and up to 450 hours of training and certification before they are officially activated. The Self Defense Company Instructor Programs provide training, business development, business systems, support and continued education through each stage of the program. Instructors seek the Self Defense Company for two reasons: to provide a much needed service to their community and to be a part of an internationally recognized organization sharing a common cause, the crusade against violence.
On Site Training
The Self Defense Company will provide instructors and training for groups or individuals. You can select from a wide range of programs or have a program custom designed to meet your specific needs. The Self Defense Company will also design and implement custom certification programs for private and government contractors and corporations.
The Self Defense Company continues to elevate self defense to an essential life skill by augmenting its services with health, nutrition and community outreach programs When combined provide complete solutions for tactical training, crime prevention and citizen safety.
